Nigeria Deaf Eagles Aim to Defend Title at 13th West Africa Deaf Football Tournament 

Nigeria Hosts Prestigious Deaf Football and Athletics Championships

The Nigerian Deaf Eagles have officially opened their training camp in Abuja as they prepare to defend their title at the 13th West Africa Deaf Football Tournament. The event, which also includes the 3rd West Africa Deaf Athletics Championships, will take place at the MKO Abiola National Stadium from August 18 to 30, 2025.  

This tournament is particularly significant as it marks the 50th anniversary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and serves as a qualifier for major international competitions, including the Deaflympics.  

Deaf Eagles Ready to Soar Again 

The Nigerian Deaf Football Association (NDFA) is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the team’s success. The Vice President of the Deaf Federation welcomed players to camp, emphasizing team spirit and unity as key factors in securing victory on home soil.  

Nigeria enters the tournament as the defending champion in both football and athletics, having won the 12th edition of the competition. The Deaf Eagles are determined to maintain their dominance and inspire the next generation of deaf athletes.
