Ota the ancestral home of the Awori’s, base in the western part of Nigeria, with over 300,000 people living in and around it, as at 1999 Ota is the third largest concentration of industries in Nigeria, Ota has an important road network across it exposing it to other African countries, the town was also the home to former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The rate of Industries in Ota have also increased the rate at which people migrate to Ota, most especially that, living is affordable for an average worker. At this rate the level of growth in all ramifications is growing at about 20% Speed with the neighboring city, Lagos.
Lagos as we know is Nigeria’s largest city for Entertainment business, meanwhile Ota that we speak of shares boundary with Lagos on the North East. With this fact in existence the success of business life in Lagos have influence the existence of business in Ota as well, leading to the existence of industries in Ota. With this perspective entertainment have become a norm in Ota with the existence of countless event centers, Pub, Lounge, Bar etc.
However Many of its habitant most especially youths have found their talent to entertainment, and have got many locations in Ota bubbling after work on Fridays to Sundays. Now the question is what are the trials, the pain and challenges of Entertainers and Entertainment Stake Holders in Ota? I would like to mention all but a few is permitted, many entertainers and Entertainment Stake Holders in Ota have failed to study the following, like Why Entertainment? Why Entertain? What to do and what not to do with Entertainment. What will happen after or before Entertaining?
Many of this so called brain behind Ota entertainment have gone into the game with big dreams and so much and ambitions, but they lack determination and agenda, and by that lost to the very first successful step, in the Entertainment business. They get carried away by the glamour and glints of enjoyment that comes with Entertainment business. They failed to observe that their role in building an economic sector through Entertainment is important, they failed to know they are the driving wheel of good sales for many event centers and locations, with ignorance the failed to sacrifice as to see many upcoming Entertainers and Entertainment Stake Holders to limelight.
Now been driven with the zeal to achieve personal interest, they have left the determination they had at first, therefore this led to zero participation of industries in Ota Entertainment business, because same has failed to yield profit for itself and its Stake Holders.
But not all bad, Ota has seen the success of many of its formal habitants in the entertainment industries outside Ota, and this has stand as a source of encouragement for upcoming entertainers in Ota, though same has also led to the believe of many Entertainers and Entertainment Stake Holders, that there is no hope for Entertainment Business in Ota, now they all struggle to move their Entertainment business out of Ota.
